The Apex Evolution Trunk is the second generation of the Kelly Slater Apex Trunk - taking the original high-performance swimwear and making it even better.
Kelly’s requests: make the drawstrings better, enhance the waistband, and reinforce the seams, so this is exactly what Outerknown did. Non-Slip braided drawcords were added so you have a secure fit and a durable construction. The waistband is soft, comfortable, and cinches without bunching. They stayed true to the original with a seamless taped design, but are now reinforced with ultrasonic-welded seams for added durability.
Some things didn’t need to change like the use of NetPlus. A material composed of recycled fishing nets, a truly responsibly made boardshort. What they did do was add a bit more substance than the first iteration. Adding more durability without compromising any performance qualities.
What makes the Apex Evolution Trunk superior is the performance-focused design. Every aspect is thoroughly designed to ensure you are getting the best possible boardshorts for performance. Pitched forward side seams with vents, provides a better fit on board. Eleven laser cut drain holes on the rear pocket helps drain water and ensures durability. The utilization of spandex gives 4-way stretch allowing smooth mobility, and of course all the new updates mentioned above. These trunks are made for surfing, made to perform, and made in tandem with Kelly Slater. They are great, there is just no other way to word it.
Note: Outerknown is phasing out the Black Signature OK Dot Logo on the trunks, and they are just phashing in the Blue OK Dot Logo. These are the same trunks. The same quality, same everything, just a different accent color.
