The Impulse is that glove! This is a high-quality glove for backcountry enthusiasts. The Impulse just checks every box: Durability, Warmth, Dexterity, Impact Protection, Waterproof, Breathability, and the list goes on.
The main callouts are the GORE-TEX insert, PrimaLoft Gold Cross Core insulation, and the Goatskin/Nylon shell. The GORE-TEX insert is going to offer you complete waterproof protection and enhanced breathability. PrimaLoft insulation will keep your hands toasty, but not sweaty due to the GORE-TEX breathability. But what good is all that if the glove doesn’t hold up? Fortunately, Black Diamond is asking these same questions. The shell is constructed with a highly durable combination of goatskin leather and nylon, and then reinforced with two-layers on all high contact points.
If this glove only had that it would be great, but they added a few more creature comfort features as well. A neoprene under the jacket cuff to block out snow and provide a secure fit, EVA padding on the knuckles and back of hand for added impact protection, and a wide-band wrist leash for all day security and added comfort.
The Impulse is truly a step above the competition and we just love the overall design and color. Keep in mind this is a backcountry glove so it may feel a bit bulkier than your typical glove for the park or resort. Intended to keep those hands warm, and fingers free to move.
