Danny's SX-70

HELLO,

THIS IS ME, I AM DAN.

I have no idea who took this photo of me. This is how a lot of my photos turn out. The SX-70 is amazing, but you need particular circumstances for a beautiful, sharp image. This was definitely early on in my owning the camera. Still learning about light, exposure, and standing still.

"...I remember Dylan Rieder was the one who told us about The Hunt, a killer boutique style shop with cameras and jewelry and such. Anyway, long story short, I love this camera, and I have been taking mostly blurry photos with it for years. But over the years of messing with the camera, I started to learn how to shoot with it. It was my first experience of falling in love with film and capturing images..."

SHAD

ALSO KNOWN AS "SHAD TO THE BONE"

Nobody loves a Shasta mission more than Shadsta. This is a one of kind human right here. I met Shad in Michigan in my youth, back in the USASA days. I am thankful for friendships like this. Effortless...

"...What I love about polaroids is they are tangible. Much like how I love magazines, having something in your hands to look at outside of a screen is just so authentic to me. Every once in a while, I get something clean and in focus..."

DUFF

AN ABSOLUTE STUD

I know a lot of wise humans on this planet, but this is perhaps the most intellectual person I have had the pleasure of knowing. A conversation with this man is a wealth of knowledge and insight. He was with me when I broke my femur in New Zealand back in 2012 as we spent 3 days in the hospital waiting to get a rod put in my leg. I couldn’t have asked for a better friend to have around at that moment.

KP

SHOWED ME HOW TO WIN

Brother of Duff, and master of heads. This photo was taken in Mount Hood, Oregon. Kev had been recovering from a brutal head injury for a couple years at this point. It was such a treat to have him back in hood. I have learned so much from Kev. He is the fiercest competitor I have ever seen. He taught me a lot about how to carry myself.

"...Although I cannot share the tangible polaroids themselves with you all, I thought it might be fun to share some of the rare, somewhat in focus polaroids I did snap. I hope you enjoy these photos, and the stories behind them..."

J-TOWN

ALL OUT AMAZING HUMAN

Snowboarder, cinematographer, entrepreneur, X-Games host... There is too much to say about this guy, so lets just talk about the photo. It was 2015? I dont know. Jack was doing a skit for X Games, wearing a white painters suit, a mental hat, and some random shades. Easy photo opportunity.

SHAKEY

MIKE AT THE BUS STOP

This guy and myself have been known to hang out at this bus stop around 11 am waiting for the bus to pick us up and head to Hintertux glacier. This photo is definitely taken after a night at the alm, the hotel watering hole. Werni Stocks family owns a lovely hotel and spa in Tux, Austria. This is quite possibly the most beautiful valley I have spent time in. Visit TUX if you have the chance.

"...Thank you to Neon Wave for giving me the platform to share this stuff."
