Some 280 miles southeast of Rochester and 90 miles north of New York City, a stoney ridge rises above the surrounding countryside. On March 11, the snowboard world came together again to celebrate the legacy of Jake Burton Carpenter. Since his passing in 2019, riders all over the world take a communal lap to celebrate his vision, spirit, and the massive list of contributions he gave to snowboarding.
Homesick 2023
This year, on the third weekend of March, Gary Land and Barry Dugan from East Street Archives brought back the vibe that the East Coast has been without for way too long. Homesick was a 3-day celebration of what many consider snowboarding's golden era in the place where it all went down decades ago.
Blauvelt's Banks 2023 at Bolton Valley
On the second weekend of March 2023, Jake Blauvelt took to Bolton Valley, VT to throw a party for the east coast snowboard community. The third annual Blauvelt's Banks brought together snowboarders from all over and pinned friends against each other in a leg, burning, snakey course, with monster berms and tight chicanes that took out even the heaviest of rippers.
